About Me

My photo
A gundog natural instinct is to retrieve. Retrieving Trials provide a perfect avenue for these dogs to express their natural abilities, have fun and exercise. Our sport simulates hunting conditions where the dogs ability to retrieve is tested over various terrain and conditions commonly found in hunting scenarios. The dogs retrieve Dokken Dead Fowl Trainers (artificial game) from anything from dams or creeks to thick marsh or sparse paddocks. We strive to make our competitions a friendly and social environment where our competitors can not only compete whilst having fun with their canine companions, but also enjoy the comradery and friendships that develop with people of similar interests.

2017 SSAA WGAA Multi Level Retrieving Championship - 18th to 20th August

Competitors and organisers alike, are ramping up for the SSAA WGAA 2017 Multi Level Championships, to be held in a months time.

With a brand new format, never before run in Australia, UFR will showcase some of the finest dog work our country has to offer. Retrieving Trial competitions test the retrieving and hunting abilities of gundog breeds by simulating duck shooting conditions, a sport where these dogs can show their true talents.

Previous to this event, Championships have been a luxury only the highest level  competitors could enjoy.  But following detailed discussions, it was decided that retrieving should be brought more inline with other sporting disciplines, which hold grand finals for various levels of their competition.

The 2017 event will see handlers & dogs from Open, Advanced and Intermediate levels battle it out across two days of competition.  Set in the beautiful area of Kilkivan Queensland, 2.5hrs north of Brisbane, this is guaranteed to be an exciting weekend.

Spectators are warmly welcomed.  If you'd like to come along to the SSAA WGAA 2017 Multi Level Championships, please drop us an email at info@unitedfieldandretrieving.org.au or via our website.
